Our corrupt politicians should be brought before our local courts, as the Quadcom demands. That should be the case. The problem is, I am sure that if they are convicted of their crimes, they will once again be confined to hospitals or wheelchairs and spend the remainder of their sentences there or under house arrest, just like Imelda, Estrada, Enrile, Arroyo, and others. The next President will pardon them all, allowing them to run for another government position and plunder again. As for FPRD and his cohorts, once the cases have been filed, they can no longer be pursued by the ICC. It must be a win-win situation for these politicians. This is my analysis, so I am open to being proven wrong. For decades, this has been how Philippine politics has worked. Or am I being too pessimistic?
